Now the Scan button no longer appears, though the device is visible and recognized as a printer.Īfter reinstalling the drivers on a Windows 10 machine on the same network I was able to use it as a scanner running HP's Solution Center, so the device itself still functions as expected. The system preferences showed both Print and Scan options but when the Scan button was non-responsive I removed the printer and re-added it as a new device hoping it would clear things up. After upgrading my MacBook Pro (Touchbar, 15") to High Sierra the device is still recognized as a printer but no longer as a scanner. I have an HP Photosmart D110 printer/scanner on my wireless network and have been able to use it as both a printer and scanner from my various MacBook Pro models for years.
